The Dean of the Faculty of Kinesiology in Split, Prof. Dr. Sc. Frane Žuvela, and the President of the Sports Club “Split Marathon” Kristijan Sindik, signed an Agreement on Cooperation between the institutions they lead on Friday, January 30, 2026, at the Faculty premises.
The cooperation includes professional-scientific, educational and promotional activities, the involvement of teachers and students in the organization of the event, the implementation of professional lectures and the development of additional joint projects related to sports and recreation. As part of the partnership, students will also be able to carry out professional practice and experiential learning during the organization and implementation of the marathon.
The goal of this cooperation is to strengthen the connection of the academic community with the largest sports event in the region. Students of the Faculty of Kinesiology in Split will participate as volunteers in various organizational segments of the race, while teachers will be involved as lecturers through topics related to running, sports preparation, recreation and a healthy lifestyle as part of the Split Marathon program.
Such partnerships further strengthen the quality of the event, connect sport and science, and provide young people with the opportunity to be part of a major international sporting event.
